A business entrepreneur, leader, former mayor and talk show host, Walter demonstrates a dedication and commitment to civic duty.

During his tenure as mayor, Mayor Sendzik launched the Compassionate City Initiative – a progressive project that worked to create a culture of compassion in city hall and in the greater St. Catharines community. Facing increased challenges of homelessness and addictions, Mayor Sendzik’s project was the first of its kind in Canada. He rose to the challenge becoming a leader in communicating with the public about what was happening in the community and ensured the public was well informed of what was happening during the pandemic.
