OUR HISTORY
Community Addiction Services of Niagara (CASON) was formed on April 1, 2009 through a merging of two addiction services that had been serving the Niagara community for decades: Niagara Alcohol and
Drug Assessment Service and the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre. With just under 50 employees, CASON is a non-profit charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
CASON provides a range of community-based services to individuals of all ages and their families. In fact, in the fiscal year 2018/2019 CASON served over 3,000 people!
Most of CASON’s services are funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care through our Local Health Integrated Network (HNHB LHIN). We are also proud to receive funding from and partner with several other organizations for innovative specialized programs.

[vc_product_feature title=”ASSESSMENT/REFERRAL” title_color=”#444444″ icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-clipboard” icon_color=”#2c2060″]The assessment consists of a psycho social interview and administration of standardized questionnaires that identify the client’s concerns, areas where change is desired and strengths that will aid in the change process.[/vc_product_feature]
[vc_product_feature title=”COMMUNITY COUNSELLING” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-users” icon_color=”#2c2060″]Clients who are appropriate for and agreeable to briefer, less intensive treatment are referred to agency-provided counselling/treatment services.[/vc_product_feature]
[vc_product_feature title=”EARLY TREATMENT” title_color=”#444444″ icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-heart” icon_color=”#2c2060″]Early Treatment is a group-level program designed to assist people awaiting more intensive treatment. Client’s must complete a program intake before attending Early Treatment.[/vc_product_feature]
[vc_product_feature title=”DAY TREATMENT” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-calendar” icon_color=”#2c2060″]The Day Treatment program is an intensive treatment intervention designed to assist individuals experiencing significant substance abuse problems.[/vc_product_feature]
[vc_product_feature title=”ADDICTIONS SUPPORTIVE HOUSING” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-home” icon_color=”#2c2060″]The ASH program is for those in recovery, with a goal of abstinence, who have experienced multiple entries into treatment, to live in communal, abstinence based homes.[/vc_product_feature]
[vc_product_feature title=”FAMILY TREATMENT” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-users” icon_color=”#2c2060″]Any person who is impacted by a family member’s substance use/gambling, is welcome to attend treatment.[/vc_product_feature]
