There are a number of residential treatment facilities available across the province for people who feel they need help in making changes to their alcohol and/or drug use and emotional and physical health. CASON counsellors can help you in deciding if residential treatment is right for you, and assist through the admission process if necessary.

STAGED SCREENING AND ASSESSMENT PROCESS FOR ADDICTIONS
The Staged Screening and Assessment process is an evidence-based, standardized screening and assessment process that has been mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for LHIN-funded substance use services in Ontario. This staged process helps identify both substance use and mental health issues among clients seeking substance use services, increasing appropriate referrals and helping in treatment planning.
The tools used by Cason include:

- Brief scanner
- 5 to 10 minutes
- Ages 12 and up
- Covers mental health & substance use +
- GAIN Q3 MI ON Standardized comprehensive assessment tool for Ontario’s addiction sector
- ages 12 and up
- comprehensive, covers 9 domains
- detail on substance use/treatment history
- 60 to 90 minutes
CASON staff are trained and certified to use these tools.
